How do I participate?

  • Start reading! Write the title and author in the matching block for each category you read between June 1 and September 8, 2020. For the newspaper category, write the name of the newspaper and the date.

  • Book titles may be used only once per card.

  • Only one entry per person. Entering the giveaway is optional and not required to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge. You are welcome to read for fun.

    • NOTE: Philly Bookshelf does not collect data from children. Parents or guardians may submit one adult card and one card for each child that participates in the summer reading challenge. Review the official rules for additional information.

  • You are on your honor to read books before adding them to your Summer Reading Challenge card.

  • 2020 Adult Summer Reading Challenge is for readers18 years old and older.

  • 2020 Children’s Summer Reading Challenge is for readers ages newborn to 18 years old. Philly Bookshelf does NOT collect data from children. To participate in the drawing, Parents or Guardians must submit a card on behalf of their child or children.

  • All entries must be received by 8 PM EST on September 8, 2020.

How do I win?

Half Page: Complete any 10 blocks, submit your card, and you will be entered into a drawing for two (2) books.

Full Page: Complete all 20 blocks, submit your card, and you will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to an independent bookstore.

How do I submit my card for the giveaway?

All entries must be received by 8 PM EST on September 8, 2020.
