Welcome to Philly Bookshelf’s third annual Summer Reading Challenge! We’ve made a few exciting updates based on suggestions from participants last summer: the 2022 Challenge requires fewer categories to complete a full card and offers an optional "Free Space" to read any book you like in place of a block you choose on your Challenge card. How do I participate?

• Start reading! Write the title and author in the matching block for each category you read between June 1 and September 6, 2022.

• Book titles may be used only once per card.

• Only one entry per person. Entering the giveaway is optional and not required to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge. You are welcome to read for fun.

  • NOTE: Philly Bookshelf does not collect data from children. Parents or guardians may submit one adult card and one card for each child that participates in the Summer Reading Challenge. Review the official rules for additional information.

• Optional “Free Space”: Read any book of your choosing in place of one specified category on the card.

• You are on your honor to read books before adding them to your Summer Reading Challenge card.

• The 2022 Adult Summer Reading Challenge is for readers18 years old and older.

• The 2022 Children’s Summer Reading Challenge is for readers ages newborn to 18 years old. Philly Bookshelf does NOT collect data from children. To participate in the drawing, Parents or Guardians must submit a card on behalf of their child or children.

• All entries must be received by 8 PM EST on September 6, 2022.

How do I win?

Less than 5 Blocks: Complete one - four blocks, submit your card, and you will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to a bookstore.

5 Blocks: Complete any 5 blocks, submit your card, and you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to a bookstore.

Full Page: Complete all 10 blocks, submit your card, and you will be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to a bookstore.

How do I submit my card for the giveaway?

All entries must be received by 8 PM EST on September 6, 2022.
